The success story of Matthias Wetzel INDUSTRIEBESCHRIFTUNGEN GmbH began in 1999 with a vision: to create a high-performance marking centre. When the Carl Zeiss optics group discussed outsourcing its ‘marking’ division, Matthias Wetzel recognised the opportunity and founded the company as part of a management buyout.

What began with just four employees is now an innovative company with a team of 40 experts. In order to meet the growing demand for skilled workers, we have been training our own staff since 2004 and investing specifically in the future.

From labelling to surface finishing centre

Our expertise has developed steadily. Today, we are more than just a labelling service provider – we offer a comprehensive range of surface finishing services:

Jena location – expertise in surface finishing

In recent years, we have established a wide range of finishing processes at our Jena location. Our expertise covers optical components, cladding parts, front panels, individual mechanical parts, injection-moulded parts and even complete assemblies.

In the field of laser-marked labels, we are also a CSA-certified sign supplier for the North American market.
